Grooming
policies.
A clear, caring foundation for a safe in-home grooming session.
Last updated: September 20, 2026
These customer-facing policies explain how Dappered Dogs Pet Services prepares for and delivers in-home dog grooming. They are implementation guidance and should be reviewed with qualified New York counsel before being treated as final legal advice.
Health and handling disclosure
Please tell us before the appointment about medical conditions, medications, allergies, mobility limitations, pain, recent procedures, skin or coat concerns, elderly or special needs, anxiety, bite or aggression history, and any handling triggers. Accurate information helps us plan a safe and calm session.
Matting and coat condition
Severe matting may require a change in service plan, additional time, or a humane shaving approach. We will discuss material changes with you when practical before proceeding. We do not promise a particular cosmetic result when coat condition, health, temperament, or safety makes that result inappropriate.
Safety and stopping service
Dappered Dogs may pause, adapt, shorten, or stop a groom when continuing would be unsafe or would cause unreasonable distress. This includes situations involving injury risk, severe fear, uncontrolled aggression, unsafe handling conditions, or a material condition that was not disclosed. A future appointment may require veterinary or behavior guidance.
Emergency veterinary care
If an urgent health concern arises during a session, we may contact you and, when reasonably necessary, seek emergency veterinary assistance. You remain responsible for veterinary costs and for keeping your contact and veterinary information current.
Home preparation
Please provide a clear, well-lit area with access to water, a safe electrical outlet, and a way for the groomer to work without interruption. Secure other pets and children away from the grooming area unless the groomer agrees otherwise.
Photo and marketing consent
Any permission to use photographs or videos for marketing is separate from grooming consent. The booking flow does not require marketing photo or video permission.
